A non-practising Naples lawyer scraping a living writing newspaper articles on folklore and astronomy, and an expert on San Gennaro and Vesuvius.

Introduced by Lattarullo during the 1944 eruption; he quizzes Lewis about the threatened towns, supplies much of the book’s San Gennaro lore, and later joins the parade of eccentric visitors to Lewis’s hospital bed.
